Molex Acquires Assets from Triton Manufacturing and Launches Venture Fund

The business lines involved fabricate power cable assemblies and custom bus bars used in a wide range of current and heat transfer applications, including industrial electrical power distribution.

Electrical and electronic connector manufacturer Molex LLC, Lisle, IL, acquired some assets of Triton Manufacturing Co., Monee, IL. The business lines involved specialize in fabricating flexible power cable assemblies and custom bus bars used in a wide range of current and heat transfer applications, including power transfer devices for computers, industrial electrical power distribution, transportation, aerospace and telecommunications.

“Triton has built a solid reputation providing high quality bus bar solutions to many leading manufacturers,” said Tim Ruff, senior vice president, Molex. “The strategic acquisition of the Triton business complements our extensive portfolio of power products. Together we’ll be able to provide our customers with even higher-value electronic solutions.”

In a separate announcement, Molex also launched a new venture for investing in startups that can leverage Molex design and manufacturing capabilities. Molex Ventures is focused on building relationships in a number of markets including medical and pharmaceutical sensors, connected health and point of care diagnostics; automotive connected mobility, electrification and autonomous driving; industry 4.0 sensors, robotics and data analytics platforms; and electronics packaging technologies.
