For just the fifth time in its 102-year history, Wiremold Co., Hartford, Conn., has named a new president. Gary Brooks will take over as president and chief executive officer of this Legrand subsidiary following the retirement of Art Byrne on Aug. 1.

Since 1981, Brooks has been president of the Brooks Electronics subsidiary of the Wiremold Co, a business that he co-founded in 1974 and sold to Wiremold in 1988.

“Over its 102-year history, Wiremold has only had four other CEOs. Each one has taken the company to new highs and I'm confident that Gary will continue this tradition,” said Byrne, outgoing CEO. “He has demonstrated his strong leadership skills as president of Brooks Electronics and is one of the key thought leaders in Wiremold's lean management system.”

Wiremold also announced that Scott Bartosch, vice president of sales, and Orest Fiume, vice president of finance and chief financial officer, will retire on Aug. 1.

Ed Miller, who has been vice president of marketing since he joined Wiremold in 1993, will assume the dual role of vice president, sales and marketing. Doug Bielefeld will succeed Fiume as vice president, finance and chief financial officer. Andy Struebing, currently manager of engineering and marketing at Brooks Electronics, will succeed Brooks as president of Brooks Electronics. Struebing became part of Wiremold in 1993 when Walker Systems was acquired by Wiremold.
