Hank Bergson announced that NEMRA has joined with NAED to form a Lighting Task Force. In November, NEMRA and several of its members are participating in a lighting task force to examine the respective roles of reps, distributors and manufacturers in the specifications for major lighting projects.

In a release to NEMRA members, Bergson said, “This subject is especially compelling for reps when their up-front work is considered on such projects. It’s a common practice for the lighting rep to invest considerable time consulting with architects, engineers, contractors, etc., during the beginning stages of a lighting project. As a result, it becomes imperative for the manufacturers’ rep to maintain the ‘spec’ of the project from beginning to end. This leads to the question of compensation. Will the rep be compensated, or not, for these up-front investment efforts?”
