Hagemeyer North America has named David G. Gabriel as CEO of Hagemeyer North America. The company made the move to consolidate the headquarters staff of Hagemeyer North America with the management responsible for its operations in the United States. The joint management team will be located in Charleston, S.C.

In addition to being responsible for the company's Canadian and Mexican operations, Gabriel will also assume direct operating responsibility for the U.S. operations. Before joining Hagemeyer, he was senior vice president and general manager North America After Markets for Tenneco Automotive. Hagemeyer said the move to consolidate is in response to the current and forecasted business environment. Gabriel succeeds David Gundling, who chose not to relocate to Charleston. Gundling will remain a member of the Hagemeyer North America board of directors.

The company also said James Warren will retire as COO, U.S. Operations, effective year-end. Until that time, he will continue to support Gabriel.
