The National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED) received a $100,000 contribution by Elliott Electric Supply of Nacogdoches, Texas, to the NAED Education & Research Foundation in memory of Nelda “Micky” Elliott.

“The Foundation has established a track record of excellent work on educational products for our industry. Taking the next logical step to select and fund research is absolutely necessary if we are going to remain the preferred channel to the market,” said Bill Elliott, president of Elliott Electric Supply. “We look forward to quality studies that define our position in the market and contribute to growth and development in our industry. I can think of no better way to remember Micky and contribute to the industry that has been so good to both of us, than to make this perpetual investment.”

Founded in 1972 by Bill and Micky Elliott, Elliott Electric Supply has grown to over 50 locations in Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas. With 450 employees and sales in 2001 topping $140 million, Elliott Electric Supply is a regional leader in the electrical distribution industry.

“As chairman of the foundation, Bill has consistently led by example, dedicating his time, knowledge, and effort. He has been a vocal supporter of expanding the Foundation’s mission and raising the funds necessary to accomplish great things for the industry. We are grateful for his leadership and involvement,” said Tom Naber, president of NAED and publisher of TED Magazine.

Elliott Electric Supply’s donation will become part of an endowment fund for the NAED Education & Research Foundation. The principal amount of the endowment will remain untouched, while the interest will be used to commission future projects and studies. As a $100,000 donor, Elliott Electric Supply will have a permanent position on the Channel Advantage Partnership Council, which will help select future educational programs and research projects.
