The second draft includes updates on some areas considered crucial for wider market adoption.

Design Lights Consortium (DLC), New York, the organization that manages one of the lighting industry’s qualified products lists on which many utilities base their rebate programs, released the second draft of its new Networked Lighting Controls (NLC) Technical Requirements, V4.0, for public comment.

DLC said version 4.0 focuses on strengthening the value of NLC technology while addressing important issues for market acceptance. After revisions based on comments received on its first draft, the second draft includes updates on some areas considered crucial for wider market adoption: cybersecurity, energy monitoring and interoperability.

With new language for these focus areas, the DLC aims to further accelerate the adoption and energy savings potential of networked lighting controls.

Comments are open until May 10, 2019.
