EM’s Electrical Price Index (EPI) was up 0.3% in February to 146.5, but was down -0.7% from Feb. 2014. The only categories registering an increase of more than 1% were telephone supplies (+3.5%) and air conditioners (+1.1%). Some of the year-over-year (YOY) product categories saw more change, including building wire (-5.5%) and power wire and cable (-4.1%).
Note: All EPI series represent Global Insight aggregates of Bureau of Labor Statistics’ (BLS) producer price indices (PPIs). The revised data partly reflect redefinitions of specific PPIs by the BLS, but mostly reflect the rebenchmarking of all EPI price series to a 1997 base year.
