Mersen takes majority stake in Spain’s Cirprotec

Mersen announced an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Cirprotec, a manufacturer based in Terrassa, Spain, specializing in lightning and surge protection. “Our ability to leverage sales in new markets combined with Cirprotec’s product portfolio and world-class surge test platform will offer our customers the benefits of a unique expertise in power quality,” said Marc Vinet, Mersen group vice president, Electrical Power. Cirprotec also provides consulting services and customized solutions in surge protection.
