IDEA looks to next generation of Industry Data Warehouse

The Industry Data Exchange Association (IDEA), Arlington, Va., is looking to the future of the electrical industry’s data needs and took an important step last week to prepare itself for an even more data-intensive future. IDEA signed an agreement with Stibo Systems, Aarhus, Denmark, to build the next generation of IDEA’s cornerstone service, the Industry Data Warehouse (IDW).

IDEA narrowed the field to four finalist entries and Stibo delivered the solution the IDEA team selected. Stibo Systems, founded in 1976 to provide data management services for all kinds of clients, operates as a foundation and trumpets its immunity to the distractions of mergers and acquisitions, employing over 500 employees in 10 offices worldwide in providing one versatile system for managing data. Their multi-domain master data management (MDM) platform named STEP handles everything from product and location data to customer and employee data.
