Electrical People: New Regional Managers at Shat-R-Shield

Shat-R-Shield (Salisbury, N.C.): The company has hired Bob Mochel as Southern regional manager and Christopher Dean as Western regional manager.

United Copper (Denton, Texas): Matt Scarborough is now Northeast regional manager. Along with his recent position at General Cable as a senior field application engineer, he runs Tradetech Solutions, a producer of Web-based software for independent manufacturers’ reps and previously worked as a rep for B.N. Yanow, and Johnson & McGill, two New England  reps.

Shat-R-Shield (Salisbury, N.C.):  The company has hired Bob Mochel as Southern regional manager and Christopher Dean as Western regional manager. Mochel, based in St. Charles Mo., was most recently an outside sale rep for WESCO. His territory will cover a large portion of the southern states, including Oklahoma, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Florida. Dean resides in Northern California and has experience with the electrical industry in both distribution and manufacturing. Prior to his most recent position as senior sales representative at Osram Sylvania, he served as a branch manager for W.W. Grainger. His territory includes California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Arizona and the western Canadian provinces of British Columbia and Alberta.

ABB Lighting (Belvidere, N.J.):  This manufacturer of LED luminaires has hired Guy Esposito as V.P. of sales. Esposito joins ABB Lighting after three years with Fulham, as V.P. of sales - energy solutions.  Prior to Fulham, Esposito worked 17 years with GE/Gexpro, rising up through six positions of increasing responsibility.  In his 30-plus year career in the distribution/lighting industry, he worked in various market segments, including retail, industrial, government, entertainment and gaming. He has provided lighting materials and design assistance to numerous casino resorts in the U.S., Asia and South America. ABB Lighting is a 20-year-old lighting specialist with an ISO-certified factory in Shanghai and a 6,000-square-foot machine shop at its headquarters.

Franklin Empire (Montreal):  Sean Bernard is now contractor sales manager – Ontario. He previously held the position as contractor sales manager – GTA. Bernard will lead the contractor sales and quotes teams responsible for all of Ontario except the Ottawa region. He continues to report to Cliff Backman and will work closely with Michael Almeida, general manager for Franklin Empire in southwestern Ontario.

WSP (New York): Melanie Taylor has been appointed national leader of the Buildings, USA lighting practice at WSP, a global engineering and professional services organization. She will be based in New York and manage the lighting design practice spanning 16 offices across the nation. Taylor is based in New York. A WSP vice president with over 20 years of lighting design experience, She previously led  leading lighting design efforts for the company’s Seattle and New York offices. Her background includes lighting systems for airports, five-star hotels, corporate headquarters, mixed-use complexes, and healthcare environments.  She has been very active in the lighting design industry; has a BA in fine arts from the Pratt Institute ; and is a professional member of the International Association of Lighting Designers.
