Allen Electric sold to Giles Prairie Partners in stock sale

Allen Electric Supply Co., Livonia, Mich., a full-service distributor of electrical supplies and equipment, serving contractors, original equipment manufacturers and industrial/commercial users in southeast Michigan, has been sold to Giles Prairie Partners, Inc., Chicago.

Allen Electric Supply Co., Livonia, Mich., a full-service distributor of electrical supplies and equipment, serving contractors, original equipment manufacturers and industrial/commercial users in southeast Michigan, has been sold to Giles Prairie Partners, Inc., Chicago. The company will continue to be based in Livonia, and all of its employees will be retained. Bob Christian, president of Giles-Prairie, will be the Allen Electric’s new president and CEO. Christian will be replacing Norman Horowitz, 65, who will be retiring concurrent with the purchase.

Founded in 1959 by Josef Horowitz, Allen Electric has been owned by Norman and Jerry Horowitz since 1989. Jerry Horowitz will remain as the V.P. of sales and marketing.
