New construction put in place during November was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $865.1 billion, 1 percent above the revised October estimate of $858.6 billion, according to the Commerce Department. During the first 11 months of 2001 $798.6 billion of new construction was put in place, 6 percent above the $752.8 billion for the same period in 2000.
