Speedware To Buy Prelude Systems

Speedware Corp., a vendor of distribution software in Montreal, agreed to buy Prelude Systems Inc., a 25-year-old wholesale distribution software company based in Texas.

Speedware Corp., a vendor of distribution software in Montreal, agreed to buy Prelude Systems Inc., a 25-year-old wholesale distribution software company based in Texas.

Prelude, which reported about $22 million in revenue for the year ended June 30, addresses the needs of distribution markets including specialty supplies, automotive parts, industrial and consumer products.

“This acquisition, combined with our offerings in the building materials marketplace ... expands our overall reach in the distribution enterprise software space,” said Andrew Gutman, Speedway’s chief executive officer.

Don Webb, president and founder of Prelude, will remain president of Prelude, which will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Speedware Corp.
