Hubbell Inc. (Orange, Conn.): The board of directors of Hubbell Inc. has elected Timothy H. Powers as chairman. Powers is president and chief executive officer of the company.

Hubbell Inc. (Orange, Conn.): The board of directors of Hubbell Inc. has elected Timothy H. Powers as chairman. Powers is president and chief executive officer of the company. Powers was appointed to his positions and elected a member of the board of directors in July 2001. He joined Hubbell’s senior management team in 1998 as senior vice president and chief financial officer. Prior to his association with Hubbell, he held senior positions in finance and business development with ABB Inc. and BBC Brown Boveri Inc. The preceding chairman of the board, G. J. Ratcliffe, will remain a director to continue his more than 30 years of contributions.

Acuity Brands Inc. (Atlanta): Vernon J. Nagel assumed the position of chairman and chief executive officer Sept. 1. Nagel succeeds James S. Balloun, who retired as part of a previously announced succession plan. Nagel joined Acuity Brands in December 2001 as executive vice president and chief financial officer. In January 2004, he was elected vice chairman and chief financial officer and appointed to the board of directors. Karen J. Holcom, vice president and controller, will serve as interim chief financial officer.

Emerson Electric Co. (St. Louis): David N. Farr, chief executive officer of Emerson, has been elected to the additional position of chairman of the board. Farr replaces Charles F. Knight, who had served as chairman since 1974. Knight retired from the board of directors and was named to the honorary position of chairman emeritus. Knight joined Emerson in 1972 as vice chairman and became chief executive officer in 1973. He retired as CEO in 2000. Farr was elected CEO in October 2000 when Knight stepped down from that position.
