Sarno named CTO at OneSource; Bruni joins Omni Cable board; Di Gesu joins Sunovia; new regional managers at Border States, ConEd Solutions; and more...

Border States Electric (BSE) (Fargo, N.D.): Wes Ward has been named South Central region construction and industrial sales manager. Ward joined Border States Electric in 2006 when it acquired Nunn Electric. He had several management posts at Nunn Electric, including account manager; Odessa, Texas, branch manager; and Lubbock, Texas, division manager. He received his bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University.

In other news at BSE, David Baltes has been named supply chain services operations manager. He has been with Border States Electric since November 1999, and he has served in the warehouse, will call and drove delivery trucks. He has also held the positions of supply chain service reporting specialist, supply chain services quality auditor and most recently supply chain service supervisor. He is certified in production and inventory management (CPIM) from The Association for Operations Management.

ConEdison Solutions (Overland Park, Kan.): William Davidson is now manager of sales and business development/Midwest Region for this energy service company (ESCO). He has more than two decades of national and international experience in energy services and performance contracting and will manage the growth of the ConEdison Solutions energy services portfolio in the Midwest and spearhead ongoing market penetration into Texas, Colorado and other states.

He worked for more than 14 years at Ingersoll Rand/Trane in a variety of national and international roles including V.P. of global services business development and most recently starting the company’s energy consulting and advisory services group. He also managed mid-America business development for Honeywell.

Sunovia Energy Technologies (Sarasota, Fla.): Lighting industry veteran Jon Di Gesu is now head of marketing communications, advertising and public relations. He will direct this LED manufacturer’s branding and positioning efforts and manage its marketing, promotional and public relations operations. Di Gesu brings more than 30 years of executive-level communications management and branding experience, including 17 years with Sylvania before and after it was acquired by Osram, and for Siemens in its U.S.-based factory automation, solar and lighting

OneSource Distributors (Oceanside, Calif.): Jason Sarno has been promoted to V.P. and chief technology officer. He will continue to report to Mike Smith, president and chief operating officer and manage the company’s programming and infrastructure teams. He has 15 years of hands-on experience in software development, information technology, distribution software and electrical distribution, and began his distribution software development career with Eclipse. Sarno is a graduate from the Colorado School of Mines with a degree in engineering physics and a minor in mechanical engineering.

USA Wire & Cable Inc. (USAWC) (Austin, Texas): The company recently hired cable sales veterans Donnie Daniels and Dee Wheatley. Daniels will use his 33 years of experience selling wire and cable to drive sales efforts to exclusively sell through electrical distributor accounts throughout Texas and the entire Gulf Coast region, while Wheatley, also a 33-year veteran of the wire and cable market, will have accounts throughout the Gulf Coast, North America and South America.

LEM Products Inc. (Doylestown, Pa.): Maureen O’Connor, CEO of LEM Products, Inc., has been honored with a “Brava! Women Business Achievement Award” by SmartCEO magazine For her combined entrepreneurial and philanthropic endeavors. The award recognizes women business leaders who give back to the community while attaining entrepreneurial success. LEM Products is a manufacturer of identification and safety products such as safety signs, labels, tags and other OSHA/ANSI-compliant products.

Omni Cable Corp. (West Chester, Pa.): Eugene (Gene) Bruni, former president of United Electric, New Castle, Del., has taken a seat on the company’s board of directors. The appointment followed an extensive search, Omni said in a release, and chose Bruni for his leadership skills and industry expertise, as well as his experience leading an employee-owned company. Bruni held various senior positions while at United. During his time there he contributed to the company’s growth from 35 employees, one location, and $3 million in sales to 300 employees, 15 locations and $185 million in sales.
