McNaughton-McKay Electric Co., Madison Heights, Mich., recently acquired all the assets of S+S GmbH and S&D GmbH (S+S/S&D) located in Wegberg, Germany, the largest Rockwell Automation distributor in Germany. S+S/S&D will operate under the name of Mc-Mc GmbH, McNaughton-McKay’s German subsidiary.

McNaughton-McKay was focused on finding a European source for providing technical and logistical support for an increasingly complex supply chain, the company said. The acquisition of S+S/S&D brings McNaughton-McKay one step closer to accomplishing that goal.

S+S/S&D has annual revenues of approximately $15 million. They serve a diverse market and have numerous sales locations throughout central and southern Germany. The S+S/S&D operation has been very successful in servicing production equipment OEMs that ship their finished machines to U.S.-based companies. The general manager for Mc-Mc GmbH will be Werner Schüpfer, who was a partner in the former S+S/S&D. Matthias Kistler will provide sales leadership in the new organization.

McNaughton-McKay currently has 22 U.S. locations in Michigan, Ohio, Georgia, and North and South Carolina.
