Home Depot Inc., Atlanta, is uniting its fast-growing family of distribution businesses under a new single brand, HD Supply.

In the coming months, each Home Depot Supply business will transition to the name HD Supply, including Hughes Supply, Orlando, Fla., which Home Depot bought in March of this year, and Edson Electric Supply Inc., Phoenix.

“The HD Supply brand represents the rich legacy of each company in our division and the expanded opportunity afforded to our customers as a result of The Home Depot’s financial strength, supplier relationships and value-added marketing opportunities,” said Joe DeAngelo, executive vice president/president, HD Supply. HD Supply will also include Home Depot’s recent purchase of Grafton Utility Supply, an electrical utility distributor in Canada and Burrus Contractors Supply, Beaumont, Texas, which White Cap Construction Supply recently acquired.

HD Supply has nearly 1,000 locations across the United States and in Canada, and over 26,000 associates. Division sales this year are projected to reach $12 billion.

DeAngelo said Home Depot changed how business was done in the do-it-yourself retail market, and that it the plans to transform the professional builder market, too.
