Granite City’s Godwin To Be Recognized By Women’s Business Enterprise

Phyllis P. Godwin, owner and CEO of Granite City Electric Supply Co., Quincy, Mass., will be recognized by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC)

Phyllis P. Godwin, owner and CEO of Granite City Electric Supply Co., Quincy, Mass., will be recognized by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) as a 2007 Woman-Owned Business Star. The black-tie event will be held on March 29 in Dallas, Texas.

WBENC works in conjunction with its affiliate business organizations to advance the success of certified women’s business enterprises and its corporate members. Each year WBENC profiles 14 regional affiliates as woman-owned business stars. These 14 female leaders have provided leadership in their respective local business communities, provided inspiration to other women business owners and remain at the helm of their successful certified businesses. Godwin will be representing the Center for Women & Enterprise of Boston.

The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) is a third-party certifier of businesses owned and operated by women.

Granite City Electric Supply Co., a family owned and operated electrical distributor, ranks 73rd among the nation’s Top 200 distributors, according to Electrical Wholesaling magazine’s 2006 listing.
