The Electrical Price Index (EPI) increased 0.9 percent in December and was up six percent year-over-year. Building wire (+3.9%) and power wire and cable (+2.9%) accounted for most of the monthly increase. Compared to December 2008, building wire was up 31.5% and power wire and cable was up 14.9%. Fasteners were down 0.9% for the month and down 4% year-to-year.
