EPI Increases 0.5 from April to May

EM’s Price Index increased a half percent in May 2009, led by increases in building wire (2.9%); power cable (1.8%); and telephone equipment. Switchgear (-2.7%) and fuses (-1.3%) registered the largest month-to-month declines. Year-to-year, the total price index is down 3.5%, led by power cable (-22.1%) and building wire (-19%). Prices for appliances (6%) and residential lighting (5.6%) are up the most year-to-year.
