ABI takes a small step forward in February. During the first two months of 2011, the Architecture Billings Index (ABI) is not as strong as in the final quarter of 2010. As a leading economic indicator of construction activity, the ABI reflects the approximate nine- to twelve-month lag time between architecture billings and construction spending. The American Institute of Architects (AIA), Washington, D.C., reported the February ABI score was 50.6 points, up slightly from a reading of 50 point
