Cooper buys manufacturer of televisions for hazardous locations

Cooper Industries plc (CBE), Dublin, Ireland, signed a deal to buy Norway’s Hernis Scan Systems AS, which makes closed-circuit television systems for use in harsh and hazardous conditions. Hernis specializes in explosion-proof television systems used in on-shore and offshore oil and gas production and for marine and petrochemical markets.
