Brook Electrical Distribution Co., a subsidiary of Sonepar headquartered in Lincolnshire, Ill., has opened a new branch in Elgin, Ill. Founded in 1925, Brook Electrical also has Illinois facilities in Chicago, Carol Stream, Lincolnshire and Mokena.
The new branch offers a full-service counter sales operation as well as a stocking warehouse to service the Fox Valley market. Brook operates a 77,000 square foot central distribution facility in its Lincolnshire location.
“This new location will allow us to continue our expansion into new markets with new customers while extending our reach for existing clients,” said David Rosenstein, president of Brook Electrical.
Brook Electrical’s parent company, Sonepar USA, Berwyn, Pa., was ranked No. 7 on EW’s most recent “Top 200” with $1.5 billion in sales for 2003. Sonepar USA has acquired several electrical distributors since it entered the U.S. market in 1998. Acquired companies maintain their local identities and operate as subsidiaries. Brook Electrical was acquired by Sonepar USA in 2000.
