Anixter International Inc., Chicago, said it has entered into a contract to lease a new 457,000 square foot distribution facility in Alsip, Ill. The new facility will replace an existing facility located in Alsip.
The new facility will be designed and built to specifications specifically to serve the needs of Anixter. As such, the building is expected to produce additional operating efficiencies and result in lower operating costs for what has historically been Anixter’s largest distribution center. Anixter expects to relocate to the new facility in the fourth quarter of 2004.
