Electrical Marketing’s Electrical Price Index started off 2015 with some rather larger decreases, with Power Wire & Cable sagging -3.2% and Telephone products down -7%. Wiring Devices & Connectors were the only product category with an increase of more than 1% for the month. All other categories, with the exception of air conditioners (-1.4%), showed little change.

The revised data partly reflect redefinitions of specific PPIs by the BLS, but mostly reflect the rebenchmarking of all EPI price series to a 1997 base year.
