Total Electrical Distributors Inc., Staten Island, N.Y., has installed a 78 kW PV system that's expected to save the company $22,000-$24,000 per year on its electrical bills. According to a press release announcing the installation, Total Electrical Distributors stocks balance of system (BOS) products for PV installation such as racking, wire and cable and circuit protection equipment, but does not carry the solar panels themselves because it believes pricing is much too volatile to be warehousing and stocking them. The company is also installing high-bay LED illumination for the headquarters' warehouse lighting and outdoor security LED lighting.
