Schneider Electric Expands West Coast Manufacturing

An industry with a strong made-in-America strain running through it will be glad to see a major electrical manufacturer committing to expand its manufacturing base in the United States. Schneider Electric North America, Palatine, Ill., the U.S. business of Paris-based Group Schneider, announced the grand opening of its new manufacturing location in Livermore, Calif., to make standard and custom circuit breakers as well as housing the company’s West Coast service teams.

The facility will serve as a West Coast hub for Schneider’s U.S. Services team, offering improved customer service for Schneider Electric's local customers while also supporting the production of Schneider Electric's portfolio of modernization products, including direct replacement circuit breaker designs and custom designs, Schneider said in a release.

Schneider Electric's Livermore facility will offer application and design engineering, switchgear modernization solutions, motor control center retrofit solutions and custom switchgear and solutions. The company will thus be able to offer reduced lead times thanks to increased proximity, access to local engineering support for on-site measuring and inspection and synchronized operating hours.

"We are delighted to announce the opening of our new manufacturing facility in Livermore," said Udaya Devineni, senior vice president of U.S. Services, Schneider Electric. "By going west, we are able to better serve our customers on the West Coast and provide them with the resources they need to successfully implement modernization solutions."

The facility will be located at 6611 Preston Avenue, Suite A, in Livermore, Calif.
