Panduit and General Cable join forces on industrial automation

Connecter and device maker Panduit and wire giant General Cable have joined forces again to offer an industrial automation connection package. The two companies have offered infrastructure solutions together for the data center and structured cabling markets, but the new PanGen Industrial Automation Connectivity partnership seeks to provide comprehensive, high-performance cable and connection solutions specific to the needs of networked factory automation systems.

PanGen IA installations are eligible for the PanGen Industrial Automation 25-year system warranty, provided the installation meets all of the terms and conditions of the PanGen Industrial Automation System Warranty Program. General Cable also offers a separate extended 25-year product warranty on all General Cable-branded datacom and electronic cabling used in the warrantied IA Installation. PanGen cabling and connectivity systems are sold through authorized General Cable and Panduit distributors.

The PanGen IA standards-based offering includes industrial Ethernet, high-performance control cabling, industrial fiber optics and connectivity, all of which comply with industry standards such as ANSI, TIA, ODVA and ISO/IEC, resulting in measurable high performance and data transfer, the companies said in a joint release.
