Two former executives of large industrial distribution companies are launching a new venture this month to provide channel services to industrial distributors. AgoNow, based in Tulsa, begins life as a pure industrial master wholesaler to facilitate more profitable relationships between distributors and manufacturers, the company said. Larry Davis, former president of ORS Nasco and chief commercial officer of Stellar Industrial Supply, and John Allenbach, former senior V.P. of sales & marketing for Apex Tool Group are leading the effort.
Electrical, lighting and batteries are part of a long list of industrial MRO product categories AgoNow will focus on, along with abrasives; adhesives, sealants and tape; general construction; metalworking; fasteners; hand tools; hose clamps, tubing and fittings; heating, cooling and ventilation; janitorial supplies; chemicals, lubricants, coolants and fluids; marking and labeling; material handling and storage; measuring and inspecting instruments; paint and paint accessories; pneumatics; power tools and accessories; pumps; safety; saw blades; and welding supplies. More product categories will be added as the company grows.
Working with manufacturers, AgoNow will only sell to distributors and resellers. Its plan is to help distributors and manufacturers grow revenue, lower operating expenses by shipping product for them, and reduce their working capital by stocking products and consolidating usage. AgoNow is also investing in analytics and marketing services that will help distributors and manufacturers uncover new sales opportunities.
