GE partners with Walmart on domestically produced lamps

GE will invest $30 million and add 150 jobs at three plants as part of Walmart's $50 billion domestic manufacturing commitment to bring more American-made products to consumers.

GE, Shelton, Conn., reinforced its commitment to manufacturing in the U.S. with a $30 million investment that will add 150 manufacturing jobs, following an agreement with Walmart to provide more domestically produced goods for sale to consumers. Industry Weekreported that the agreement will put U.S.-made GE Energy-Efficient Soft White light bulbs on the shelves of 3,400 Walmart Stores by summer 2014.
