GE and Google now working together on mapping tool for electric utilities

A new agreement announced today between GE and Google will integrate Google Maps data into GE’s Smallworld electrical, telecommunications and gas applications.

A new agreement announced today between GE and Google will integrate Google Maps data into GE’s Smallworld electrical, telecommunications and gas applications. One of GE’s business units provides  geospatial analytical tools and insight, and Google has provider of map services with more than 1 billion monthly active users for its various map services. A press release announcing the agreement says the deal will help utilities increase productivity based on the ability to visualize and analyze their data with GE’s Smallworld product suite. Details
