Affiliated Distributors, Wayne, Pa., reported today that its members achieved an aggregated 5% growth in revenues in the first half of the year. The buying/marketing group's Electrical Division members grew 2% in the first half, on a same-store basis, to $5.97 billion.

“The second quarter of 2013 continued to reflect guarded optimism by our membership, with same-store purchases up 2%, while much of the industry remained flat," said John Eggleton, AD’s president of the U.S. Electrical Division. "Even in a slow economic year, as is expected for 2013, AD members will continue to increase market share as well as experience net distributions as a percentage of supplier rebates over 100%.”

AD further said its affiliates hired 2,973 new employees and opened 105 new locations in just the last three months.
