Acuity Adds Another IoT Tool with DGLogik Purchase

Acuity Brands, Inc., Atlanta, has acquired 100% of the equity interests of DGLogik, Inc., a San Francisco Bay area-based provider of software solutions that uses the Internet of Things (IoT) to help users utilize data analytics to visualize, analyze and optimize facility operations based upon various sets of data from multiple types of devices.

Acuity said in a press release that the customizable applications and dashboards in the DGLogik software platform fits into its existing IoT solutions for the growing market for intelligent networked systems.

Vernon Nagel, Acuity’s chairman, president and CEO, said in the release that Acuity is excited about the capabilities that DGLogik brings to its “already extensive deployments of networked digital lighting.” “We believe DGLogik’s expertise in the development of technologies focused on advanced data aggregation, association, and visualization creates an exciting opportunity to accelerate the expansion of Acuity Brands portfolio of holistic IoT solutions,” he said. “This acquisition supports our efforts to provide our customers with solutions that will allow them to easily interact with various sets of data from various devices, providing them with the intelligence to make meaningful business decisions to optimize the performance of their businesses.”
