Acuity Brands, Inc., Atlanta, acquired certain assets, including all proprietary technology and other intellectual property, of GeoMetri, LLC, a provider of a software and services platform for mapping, navigation and analytics in a cash deal announced this week.

The acquisition adds indoor mapping and navigation capabilities to Acuity’s ByteLight indoor positioning solution These indoor capabilities, together with the ability to provide mapping for surrounding outdoor spaces, create new opportunities for data analytics that can lead to operational efficiencies, enhanced safety, and increased revenues in spaces such as airports, shopping malls, logistics centers, universities and health-care facilities, Acuity said.
